GP Summer School China
Shanghai, August 13 - 24, 2013
"Understanding Global Politics - Chinese, European and German Perspectives"
Jointly organized by Fudan University Shanghai and the Center for Global Politics at Freie Universität Berlin
Curriculum
This intensive short-term program will provide students with an insight into current global transformation processes and covers different theoretical concepts, international actors, and policy fields. The modules will touch upon new approaches to global politics, European, German and Chinese perspectives on sustainability in energy policies, the global financial crisis and regional integration processes. Additionally, there will be a project module on corporate responsibility. The exchange of views and ideas will equally include input from German and Chinese academics and students.
In 2012, particular emphasis was placed on questions of sustainability and climate change.

A joint certificate of participation will be issued upon successful completion.
Supporting Program
The extracurricular program includes visits of international institutions as well as historical and cultural sights around Shanghai.

Admission
Your background:
- first academic degree (B.A. or equivalent) in political science or a related field
- current studies at the Master’s level in international relations, political science, economics, communications or a related field at a university in Germany, Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao or Taiwan
- excellent command of English

The application period begins on April 18 and ends on June 12, 2013.

Expenditures
The tuition fees for the Summer School amount to 800 CNY. Participants are responsible for their travel and living expenses. Affordable accommodation will be arranged in a hostel near Fudan University Shanghai.
